This is a very exciting semi newly created opportunity at head offices in Cardiff. My client is looking for someone to join the team providing financial management services to a number of clients operating in the project finance industry.

A key part of this role includes providing timely and accurate reporting of results including monthly and quarterly management accounts as well as providing routine financial reports.

Client Details

My client is a project finance services and advisory company, specialising in PFI/PPP and other structured finance. They have been providing services to many of the key players in the PFI/PPP and project finance industry since 2000. My client uses no external investors and as a wholly independent company can provide the impartial advice and management needed to run successful projects. As a result the capital value of projects to which my client has provided successful services is in excess of £2bn.

Description

• Providing routine financial reports detailing construction progress and further adhoc reports as requested from time to time
• Providing timely and accurate reporting of results including monthly and quarterly management accounts presenting P&L Account, balance sheet, cashflow and forward looking cashflow forecasts
• Maintain the books and records for all financial transactions using Sage Accounting Software (including purchase ledger, accruals and prepayments, intercompany accounts, reconciliations and payment processing)
• Detailed construction cashflow monitoring
• Preparation of monthly payment runs
• HMRC submissions for VAT and CIS
• Attendance at quarterly meeting to present the finance reports
• Corresponding and liaising with external advisors for tax and audit
• Preparing audit files and liaising with the auditors for annual financial statements
• Dialogue with the investors and responding to adhoc requests
• Updating financial models using Microsoft Excel

Profile

Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)

Experience of preparing consolidated monthly accounts and consolidated annual financial statements

Experience of working with statutory auditors and familiarity with accounting standards and disclosures under UK GAAP and IRFS

Good communication skills to deal with Clients and suppliers

Good attention to detail for creating reports with an ability to work to deadlines

Experience of accounting for construction projects would be useful but is not essential
