About the Role
Skillinvest is currently accepting EOI applications for an exciting and upcoming position with our valued local host. We are seeking a qualified and well-versed accountant to assist and support the accounting team with a range of duties which will require expertise. The successful candidate will work both autonomously and, in a team, will demonstrate a high level of industry knowledge, be able to work in a fast-paced environment and, adapt to shifting priorities efficiently. Initially, the role will be casual with a consistent Monday - Friday roster, averaging between 24-30 hours per week, and flexible start and finish times. For the right candidate there may be part time permanent opportunities available down the track.

Duties
- Coordinate the front office Treasury activities of the Corporation.
- Responsible for preparing all relevant State and Federal taxation returns including BAS, FBT and NTER returns.
- Coordination of information to support the annual borrowing approvals process.
- Coordinate the accounting interface within the financial system for all stock transactions, maintain and refine stock transaction processes and procedures, and manage the quarterly and annual stock take process.
- Preparation of general ledger account reconciliations and monthly journals as required.
- Preparation of lease accounting to current accounting standards.
- Development and refinement of treasury and taxation related policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Coordinate Pension Concession Claims and State Revenue Office Claims for the corporation.
- Reconcile rating and revenue general ledger accounts to the Property and Rating Module.
- Undertake other duties and functions as directed, commensurate with current level of skills and classification.
To be consider you will have
- Certificate and or, Diploma in Accounting
- Exceptional organisation and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
- Able to navigate various computer systems and software
- Proven experience in a similar role
