Description

The key responsibilities for this newly created Head of Financial Planning & Analysis role is will include improving relationships with operations & enhancing the quality of the data.

The firm is incredibly data hungry and the selected candidate will be able to draw commercial insight to support senior management decision-making and proactively identify initiatives to improve business or financial performance. There will also be significant exposure to the PE investor and the opportunity to be involved with inorganic growth such as bolt-on acquisitions. The position will report into the Finance Director.

  • Take ownership of group forecasts, challenging trends and assumptions with divisional heads
  • Manage the monthly rolling, quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting process
  • Prepare forecast and budget presentations for senior management and the PE investor
  • Support the FD in the annual strategy review process / 5-year plan
  • Involvement in M&A opportunities that may arise
  • Business partnering with divisional heads and preparing of ad-hoc financial analysis
  • Produce relevant analysis to prepare the monthly group board report, including commentary and key business insights for senior management
  • Perform analysis required to understand and challenge the key drivers of variances in financial statements, margins and KPIs
  • Co-ordinate the full suite of reporting for the PE investor
  • Lead and grow the FP&A and MI teams as the business grows

Profile

The successful candidate for this Head of Financial Planning and Analysis role will be:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent) with at least 5 years post-qualification experience
  • Experience within a senior financial analysis role or an advisory team within a top tier accounting firm
  • Previous exposure to M&A transactions
  • Significant financial modelling experience with strong analytical and organisational skills
  • Strong academic record, with a numerate degree
  • Logical approach to problem-solving and strong attention to detail
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with programming skills (such as VBA) desirable
  • Down to earth style and comfortable communicating and working with senior management or the PE investor
  • Proactive, self-starter comfortable with increasing responsibilities
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to work in an agile manner

Job Offer

This fantastic Head of FP&A role for this PE backed Manchester City Centre business will receive a salary of £65,000 - £75,000 + brilliant benefits as well as the chance to progress quickly and take the business through a sale process.
