Shakespeare’s Globe is currently seeking a Financial Business Support Accountant to join our Finance team.

The job:

Working as part of a small team and supporting the Finance Manager (Business Support and Reporting), the Financial Business Support Accountants work to cover a number of departments, providing financial information, developing reports, investigating variances and preparing budgets, and ensuring timely production of management accounts.

This role is offered on a permanent full-time basis and can be worked wholly remotely at the moment (with on-site working available); in the coming months we expect to introduce some on-site days but remain supportive of remote working. We’re happy to discuss flexible working in all its forms so please let us know how you work best.

The skills:

The successful candidate will either have or be working towards a Finance or Accounting qualification and will have a good working knowledge of accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel. With an organised and methodical approach to work tasks, the right person is able to target and classify information and arrange appropriately in a timely way. Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to be a supportive team member are essential skills for this fast-paced role. The team:

The Finance Department plays a crucial role in the success of Shakespeare’s Globe. This team provides a quality financial reporting service that:

  • Meets the evolving commercial needs of the organisation;
  • Allows the organisation to comply with relevant reporting requirements of the regulatory bodies and fiscal authorities;
  • Brings effective financial control and proactive business support to the organisation and to individual departmental budget holders; and
  • Provides project management support to the Finance Director in the development of  high performance financial reporting and business information systems.
