This Financial Risk and Control Analyst role has a financial, risk and change control focus will support Middle Office as a whole, both by taking a more independent view of its operational systems, processes and controls and by leading the division's work on a number of change programmes.

Description

On the delivery of the new reconciliation platform, the analyst will take the lead in the end-to-end execution; ensuring that the design and development of the new outputs satisfy the business and risk assessment requirements, maintaining excellent stakeholder engagement and leading all aspects of the all-important quality assurance and testing phases.During the later stages of the project, the analyst will lead on the live migration and operationalisation of the reconciliation system by delivering the Target Operating Model.Map, understand and therefore take a lead role in initiatives that support the end-to-end data flows across systems, processes, risk and controls. Actively challenge where the systems and processes are ineffective and/or have failed to meet the required risk tolerance levels.Take a lead role on operational risk assessment and reporting; working collaboratively with the Middle Office management team to ensure that risks are articulated, understood and managed effectively.Responsibility for delivering change initiatives that have an impact on financial controls (reconciliations and cashflows), representing Middle Office at working/control group meetings and working closely with all impacted areas.

Profile

* The Financial Risk and Control Analyst will hold a recent qualified accountancy status (e.g. ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with an audit background, in banking and/or market operations.

* A good understanding of financial controls and an appreciation of the integrity of financial data and reporting. Experience in finance projects/implementation would be advantageous.

* Demonstrable analytical skill and a track record of working in risk and control. An intuitive ability to want to identify and understand our risk and controls and to challenge and improve our systems and processes.

* A proven record of being involved in the identification of key risk areas for improvement, communicating recommendations and leading the implementation.

* A good understanding of financial products and customer banking; together with an obvious interest in the Bank's operations and how we support them operationally.

* Proficient user of Excel comfortable with Lookups, basic macros, IF functions etc. and other Microsoft suite of applications, eg Visio, project management tools etc.
