I have been exclusively retained by PRIDE Industries to assist them in finding their next Assistant Controller. This is a working manager position and looking for someone with strong leadership abilities who can lead a G/L Department of at least 8-10. PRIDE is currently at about $375M in annual revenues and plans to nearly triple in revenues over the next 5 years. This position has the possibility of being partly remote, with at least 3-4 days in the office per week. Active CPA is desired but not required. Duties: Under limited supervision, the Assistant Controller coordinates and manages the organization?s accounting and external financial reporting within corporate guidelines, ensuring compliance with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), tax requirements, and all accounting and financial regulations required by applicable jurisdictions. This job class is responsible for the preparation of financial information required by management, banking partners, and government and regulatory agencies for external financial reporting. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for researching and implementing US GAAP changes, evaluating the accounting treatment for mergers, acquisitions, and new business opportunities, as well as maintaining the company?s ERP system, including upgrades. Employees in this job class are required to have comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP requirements, financial management, and reporting practices of nonprofit and for-profit organizations. QUALIFICATIONS: •Minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience with a large CPA firm (ideal) •Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience within a large company, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role; •Supervisory skills to hire qualified employees, provide for their professional development, and administer performance management and disciplinary processes effectively; •Thorough knowledge across range of responsibilities including accounting, revenue recognition, lease accounting, tax, business practices, auditing standards, consolidations, etc.; •Knowledge of accounting systems and processes as applied to a large organization; •High degree of computer literacy tin specialized software related to accounting operations, including database, Internet, spreadsheets and word processing applications; •Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulatory reporting requirements, including those that govern both nonprofit and for-profit entities; •Ability to produce meaningful financial reports and statements, including narrative reports, spreadsheets, presentation materials, and graphic representations; •Supervisory skills to hire qualified employees, provide for their professional development, administer performance management and disciplinary processes effectively, and address employee relations appropriately; •Demonstrated leadership, organizational, reasoning, problem solving and analytical skills, including the ability to propose solutions; •Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact with various levels of management; •Ability to establish priorities and solution a wide range of business, operational and strategic management problems; •Project management capabilities ? the ability to plan, initiate, monitor, and implement projects within a team; •Flexibility to respond to dynamic work priorities and prioritize numerous projects at the same time.
