This is where you come in…
This newly created role will support the Commercial Finance Manager to deliver profitable and sustainable revenue growth, the Commercial Analyst is a key finance business partner to the sales team and wider commercial team. The role will assist the Finance and Commercial teams by providing financial analysis, reporting, modelling and control support to ensure sound financial decision-making.
The role will support key financial processes including budget and forecast to drive informed decision making, provide insights for customer negotiations, review and optimise trade investment and commercial month-end close. Additionally, you will be the voice of finance throughout the S&OP process where you will be required to provide guidance and influence strategic financial decisions on key accounts.

Responsibilities include:
  • Partner with sales and the broader S&OP team to ensure robust forecast and support the delivery of forecast and budget
  • Support trade spend optimisation agenda by providing visibility, insights and recommendations to the sales team on their trade spend
  • Partner customer investment strategies, new business opportunities, tenders, cost price negotiations and many other adhoc opportunities
  • Provide insightful analysis on existing revenue performance and future revenue management opportunities
  • Demonstrate knowledge across the value chain to drive P&L outcomes
  • Support month-end close processes including monthly reporting on revenue performance, trade spend reconciliation and journal entries when required
  • Perform variance analysis and present outcomes to key stakeholders
  • Support ongoing opportunities for improvement which includes strengthening controls and improving process efficiency

The ideal candidate:
  • You will be tertiary qualified with a degree in business, commerce or accountancy
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • FMCG/Telco/Pharmaceutical/Consumer Goods industry experience preferred
  • High level of commercial acumen and analytical skills
  • P&L understanding
  • Works collaboratively across cross-functional business teams
  • Ability to manage many cross-functional stakeholders and competing priorities
  • Critical thinking and a curious mindset
  • Adaptable, flexible and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite; advanced Excel (pivots)
  • Experience with ERP systems; QAD preferred but not essential
