Description:

SUMMARY

Working with general supervision, the Tax Senior Accountant will be responsible for the income tax compliance function of the company, as well as other Tax Department projects that arise. Associate may interact with his or her supervisor several times a week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback. Some non-routine activities may require a supervisor's advance approval.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
  • Corporate consolidated federal income tax compliance, including estimated income tax payments.
  • Multi-state and local income tax compliance, including estimated tax payments.
  • Preparation of income tax provisions, including maintenance of deferred tax assets and liabilities, workpaper documentation and reconciliation of tax general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with international tax compliance, analysis, and provision.
  • Supervision of staff.
  • Research tax issues and provide documentation for conclusions.
  • Prepare extensions and payments, if necessary to file.
  • Analyze tax reserves, including related interest and penalties, at least quarterly. Update documentation as necessary
  • Manage relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the organization; adhere consistently with all organizational policies related to our respectful workplace

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
  • Bachelor's degree with an accredited program in accounting, finance, or a related field required; MBA or MS preferred
  • Minimum two to three years of public accounting tax compliance experience or minimum of four to five years of industry accounting experience.
  • Big 4 experience preferred
  • Experience in accounting for income taxes of US multinational groups preferred
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred

  • Expert quantitative analysis skills, including the ability to interpret, analyze, organize, and report financial data
  • Proficient ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply US federal tax laws
  • Proficient ability to identify emerging tax issues and potential impact to Company
  • Ability to research complex tax issues and communicate conclusions.

  • Proficient ability to adapt to changing priorities, organize, and prioritize job responsibilities
