Our location in Alameda, CA currently has an opportunity for a Strategic Pricing Director. This person will be responsible for developing pricing & contracting strategies for the brand across all customer channels (e.g. managed care, Medicaid, Medicare, Retail, POC, etc.), and for executing on the deliverables that accompany pricing strategies, tactics and implementation.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Develop list and net pricing recommendations, including contracting guidelines and preparation of business case documentation for Pricing Governance Committee review and approval
  • Conduct financial modeling of pricing scenarios incorporating market environment risks to assess the brand's gross to net price strategy, including impacts to ASP
  • Assess and model scenarios for impacts/risks/opportunities of proposed government legislation, payer and environmental changes
  • Forecast and monitor ASP, incorporating impacts of pricing and contracting actions
  • Act as business lead responsible for projecting and monitoring payer mix and aggregate discount levels by channel
  • Develop multiple financial models to support the detailed gross to net short term forecast build and long-range forecast, including pricing model upkeep and improvement
  • Maintain pricing intelligence including environmental trends and knowledge of pricing and market access requirements across customer segments
  • Identify and anticipate key trends and assess opportunities and risks for pricing strategy development
  • Lead launch activities related to price/payers; partnering with teams across organization
  • Collaborate with Legal, Marketing, Market Access, HEOR and Contract Operations team to provide input into contract development, administration, and performance
  • Lead assessment of quarterly government pricing calculations and submissions
  • Develop and execute presentation/training for payer field team related to pricing and create presentations for senior management meetings
  • Support efforts involving investor relations requests, external and internal communication pricing requests

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

Required:
  • B.A./B.S. required
  • Position requires strong balance of interpersonal and conceptual skills resulting from education and experience.
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Medical Devices.
  • Total combined minimum years of experience 12 years, preferably from the following: (not necessarily the sum of below) sales experience 4 years, marketing product manager or pricing/contracting manager 4 years, general business management (finance, materials, customer services, etc.) 5 years.
  • Knowledge of US health care delivery systems, health and human services, health care economics, reimbursement, coverage issues and billing practices..
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of OIG Guidance, Pharma Code, Government Best Price, and AntiTrust laws.
  • Technical product expertise with various products and delivery platforms.
  • Experience in managing operations directly impacted by Quality Systems and high-level FDA scrutiny.
  • Knowledge of the DME, retail, postacute care, and managed care markets.
  • Experience in effective resource allocation and negotiations.

Preferred:
  • MBA, or other advanced degree relevant to the position is preferred (Economics, Accounting, Finance or Healthcare management)
