ABOUT THE JOB:

A direct report to the Director of Corporate Finance. The Financial Analyst is a dynamic and visible role intended for a high-potential candidate who is capable of developing into a leadership role at the company. The role requires a combination of strong individual contributions, the ability to work across cross-functional teams both within their department and across the organization, and strong financial and analytical capabilities. The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting Management with key reporting and analysis to help drive outstanding results.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare Monthly/Quarterly financial reports for internal use by key stakeholders at the company by collecting, analyzing, formatting, and presenting information
  • Perform ad hoc analysis on Company's key performance indicators for executives and key internal stakeholders
  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances
  • Provide support and consultation in the development of budgets and expense reviews
  • Develop and prepare forecasts and analyses trends
  • Build and maintain financial models and reports


Collaborative Focus

This is a team-based role and will assist in other aspects of finance as well as help drive our Company's Strategies and promote our Mission, Vision and Values. WSMM has a highly collaborative culture and the successful candidate will work effectively with a broad group of executives, peers, and field leaders to perform the above responsibilities. Aside from the Director of Corporate Finance, key relationships with responsibilities that intersect the finance functions include:
  • Corporate Segment Leaders- responsible for business segments within WSMM (i.e. supply chain, sales, safety)
  • Business Intelligence team - responsible for data visualization, data availability/accuracy & overall data governance
  • Divisional VP, General Manager - responsible for the successful operations and strategic planning of the division
  • General Manager - responsible for the successful operations and implementing strategy of each region
  • Branch Operations Leader - responsible for operations planning and execution at the branch level


EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will possess:
  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
  • 2+ years of experience as a financial analyst in a corporate accounting, finance, budgeting or planning environment
  • Natural curiosity to learn, understand and solve business problems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and communicate effectively with corporate and branch personnel.
  • Professional presence with which to interact and influence internally at all levels of the organization
  • Advanced analytical and modeling skills and comprehension of financial reporting
  • Experience working with Data Visualization- (i.e. Tableau) and Data Prep- (i.e. Alteryx) tools a plus
  • Experience working with SAP & Hyperion a plus


Abilities and Other Requirements

Must be able to use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.
