Finance Operations Analyst - Max Term 12 months

Your role

The purpose of this role is to ensure the core finance operations are being performed in the most efficient manner while maintaining appropriate controls and governance around our processes.

As an Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivables (AR) specialist your role will concentrate on process improvements and automation to enhance capacity and improve capability.

You will work collaboratively with other members of the Business Performance team and internal clients (VMIA staff) and strive to improve the client experience in various interactions they have with the team.

Your role reports to the Operations Manager in the Business Performance Division.

How you'll make an impact
  • In partnership with the Operations Manager, analyse processes to identify and operationalise improvements and automation opportunities to enhance capacity and improve capability.
  • Ensure the highest standards of customer service are met by analysing while effectively managing internal customer requests via service desk as per SLA and external client requests.
  • Assist accounting officers in day to day duties of Accounts Payable and Receivable in full compliance with business controls and internal requirements.
  • Analyse client invoicing and collections and partner effective credit control, debt reporting process and client interactions in consultation with the Operations Manager
  • Prepare and submit reconciliations and periodic reports in a timely and efficient manner. Develop new reports on key operational indicators.

What we're looking for
  • Highly motivated self-starter who manages their time effectively in order to meet strict deadlines of multiple project while working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role with a good grip on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables functions.
  • Tertiary level qualification in Finance and/or Accounting. CPA/CA qualification completed or studying for completion is preferred.
  • Proven experience in redesigning and implementing process improvements.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of accounting principles relevant for the effective management of the accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Skills and demonstrated experience in customer service and issues management/resolution in the accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Strong Information Technology skills supported by demonstrated experience with accounting systems and MS Excel software (Advanced user). Experience in Technology One (preferred).
