Are you an experienced Audit and Accounts Senior, looking for a step up in your career?


Our Central Region is looking for an Audit and Accounts Assistant Manager to join them on a permanent basis. The role can be based at our Milton Keynes, Northampton or Peterborough office. You may be based in another location; we will consider candidates who are closer to Northampton and Peterborough, if you are happy to have some presence in the Milton Keynes office.

As Audit and Accounts Assistant Manager, you will manage a portfolio of clients, meeting the needs of the clients while maximising the fee income of the portfolio, by delivering MHA MacIntyre Hudson services. To effectively manage resources and the workflow.

Our Central Region teams are friendly and dynamic, everyone is approachable and ready to support each other. Milton Keynes, Northampton and Peterborough offices work closely together creating the 'Central Region'. Increasingly they are getting involved with cross office projects, ensuring that our staff members get to experience a variety of industries and business while appreciating a regular flow of new clients.

Supervisory Role

  • To supervise staff - brief staff and allocate tasks and timescales
  • Ensure effective on the job training for all staff occurs
  • Complete staff assessment forms
  • Act as key point of liaison with client for information or queries
  • Resolve most technical queries from junior staff
  • Draft common types of audit report and client letters


Qualifications and Skills

  • ACA or ACCA, fully qualified with practice experience
  • 3+ years of audit experience
  • Excellent audit analysis skills
  • Competent planning and completion skills
  • Computer literate - good Excel and Word experience.
  • CaseWare (accounts and audit) experience would be useful.
  • Previous experience of supervising/mentoring junior members of staff
  • Good up-to-date technical knowledge including recent developments in accounting standards
  • Familiarity with UK GAAP
  • Strong communication skills - both oral and written, with an ability to deal with variety of people in different environments
  • Organised - ability to deal with a variety of tasks
  • Client focused and commercially aware
  • Team building skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Positive and committed to MHA MacIntyre Hudson in dealings with staff and clients
