At BNZ, we're uplifting our risk maturity and capability across the bank over key risk areas and we're looking for a Senior Manager, Management Assurance to join our Customer, Product & Services (CP&S) division supporting the CP&S business unit as a trusted advisor and partner and drive uplift on all compliance and policy activities.

The CP&S division forms a core part of BNZ's strategy to provide customers products which meet their need and enhance their financial wellbeing. You will play a key role in managing the compliance programme across all of CP&S business areas.

Te Kaiurungi | About the Role

As the Third-Party Insurance Risk, Management Assurance, you support the development of the Third Party Insurance Risk environment to ensure that BNZ meet their management assurance requirements. Reporting to Head of Management Assurance you'll partner with the each of the CP&S business areas to assist, support and provide guidance and insights on all risk and compliance responsibilities. This includes:
  • Developing and managing the Third Party Insurance risk and control environment for risks and compliance obligations.
  • Provide assurance that the appropriate processes are in place to implement and monitor adherence to agreed risk appetite limits
  • Assist the CP&S business with the delivery on the BNZ regulatory change programme to ensure the business is positioned to meet compliance once the regulators go live
  • In conjunction with senior business unit colleagues and leadership team members, develop action plans to address weaknesses in the control environment and ensure that these action plans are executed effectively, monitoring progress and results
  • Facilitate the monthly of the Management Assurance reporting for the business unit and escalation of information to the BNZ Executive committees: and
  • Supporting a strong risk management culture through education and awareness.

Managing Risk:
  • Ensures changes to risk processes and policies are implemented.
  • Identifies causes of loss or risk.
  • Takes immediate and appropriate action to minimise day-to-day risk to business

Ō Pūkenga | About You

We are looking for an experienced senior compliance manager (ideally 7+ years), who has a passion for bringing risk and compliance management to life.. You will have proven experience in developing and deploying risk frameworks and experience with knowledge of third-party insurance risk management, principles, and methodologies. You'll have the ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of BNZ audiences, including experience in facilitation and ups-killing stakeholders across the business.
