Our client, an ASX listed mining and exploration company, is seeking the services of an experienced Accountant to join their Perth based finance team and play an integral part they move through new and exciting milestones.The mine site is an iconic mine that is starting to ramp back into production.

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, this is a temporary position of 6 months with a high possibility to become permanent for the right candidate.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the financial management of the organisation including day-to-day accounts payable and receivable.
• Assisting with the general accounting function including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers, and account and bank reconciliations.
• Facilitatingthe processing of monthly reconciliations and account analysis and supporting the Finance Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department. This will also include preparing management reports and other ad hoc reports as required.

To be successful in this role, the candidate must be able to display the following qualities:

• 3 - 5 years of experience working as an accountant (mining preferred)
• A qualified Accountant with CA/CPA qualifications who holds at least 3 years experience in the preparation of financial statements and management of general ledgers within medium sized mining companies.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding accounting, finances and taxation including superannuation, GST and FBT
• Have at least 1 years experience using PRONTO or SAP.
