A unique opportunity exists for an experienced Tax Accountant to join an Established and reputable Chartered Accounting Practice located in Bondi Junction close to public transport.

The practise was established over 30 years ago and due to continuous growth our client is seeking a motivated, self starter qualified accountant who is looking to advance within the practice.

You will work closely with the founding principal and other experienced staff and will have responsibility for ensuring all tax compliance for your clients, including BAS and income tax lodgements, and provision of tax advice as needed.

In order to be successful for this role, you will have:
  • 3 or more years experience in public accounting in Australia
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications
  • Ideally chartered or CPA - but practical experience, and an ability to communicate well, both verbally, and in emails to client is of greater importance.
  • Ideally experience with Handi-ledger, Handi-tax
  • Experience with XERO would also be advantageous
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Experience with Self-managed superannuation funds -SMSF and Class software whilst desirable, is not essential.
Your key responsibilities will include:

Preparation of accounts, income tax returns and other documentation for SMSF clients using both BGL software and Handiledger
  • Preparation of accounts and income tax return for some family group clients including Discretionary Trusts and Private Investment Companies using Handi-ledger and Banklink
  • Preparation of income tax return for individual clients, ranging from simple, employee tax returns, to income tax returns for senior executives and investors
  • Preparation of Business Activity Statements on a quarterly basis
  • Liaising as needed with clients to obtain additional information
  • Liaising with the ATO on behalf of our clients + all ATO correspondence
  • Assistance with managing ATO lodgement lists and ATO deadlines
  • Assistance with dealing with ASIC on client matters
