This Finance Business Partner will provide a high-quality forecast, period end reporting, analysis and partnering service within a defined area of the business ensuring that directors and managers have timely, accurate and appropriate financial information to deliver financial objectives and support business decision-making. This is a pivotal role to support business leaders to drive financial accountability.

Description
This Finance Business Partner will be responsible for key activities including:
- Completion of high-quality forecasts, budgets & corporate plans to required deadlines
- Production of periodic analytical reporting to meet business area requirements to required deadlines and use technology to automate and drive standard and efficiency where possible
- Provide financial guidance and dedicated partnering to deliver insights to support the business in their decision making
- Provision of insight driven modelling and analysis of business activities to improve business performance and build budgets and forecasts that take into account the business performance and strategy
Profile
Knowledge- Degree or equivalent
- Qualified Accountant with a strong reporting skill-set
- A strong working knowledge of financial systems (Oracle is the present financial system)
- Ability to influence at all levels of the business
- Ability to be intuitive and proactive in troubleshooting problems
- Ability to forge successful & challenging relationships across the business
- Excellent presentation skills and an ability to explain complex financial issues to a non-financial audience
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Excellent quantitative, analytical and financial modelling skills
- Significant experience in a commercial financial, analysis and planning environment
- Evidence of commercial acumen and able to demonstrate a broad based view of issues, events and activities and a perception of their longer term impact or wider implications
- Demonstrable ability to assess situations and appropriately prioritise key information and issues.
- Experience of rail or similar transport industry
- Experience of change management
- Experience of project accounting
