Your new company

Your new company is a leading supplier of specialised, niche building and construction materials to trade customers across the UK and Europe. The business is going through a period of change and transformation in relation to their Internal Controls piece, and have brought in new heads recently to ensure the business is well governed, and ready for upcoming UK Sox.


Your new role

In your new role at Group Controls Manager for this business - you will report to the newly appointed Head of Internal Controls, and collaborate with your peer Group Controls Manager as well as various senior stakeholders in different parts of the business.


You will be responsible for creating, implementing and maintaining a robust and appropriate internal controls program across the Group. There is an existing Risk and Controls Matrix (RACM) in place, and you will ensure that this is strengthened, and able to deal with the business' needs.

There will also be a key opportunity to learn and develop your skills and understanding around upcoming UK Sox, as the business and this specific team are currently preparing the Group for UK SOX by setting, testing and co-ordinating the required activities for this implementation.


What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified in a relevant field (ACA, ACCA, CPA, IIA, etc.).
• Strong working knowledge of Financial Controls and/or Assurance programmes.
• Knowledge of Sox would be a bonus, but not a pre-requisite.
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to live and work in the UK without sponsorship or restriction
