HomeHero is looking for an outstanding CFO/FD who is familiar with the challenges and excitement of scaling a start-up. We've already grown from nothing to double digit millions of revenue in the last three years and have ambitions to reach triple digits in the next three.

Our revenue streams are recurring, relatively COVID proof (we have grown throughout 2020) and there are many untapped opportunities for us to pursue to grow further.

Reporting to the CEO, the newly created CFO/FD position at HomeHero will offer the candidate the rare opportunity to lead and shape the finance proposition for an exciting, fast growing, revenue generating technology and services start-up that has an increasing need for financial rigour.

NOTE: The role and salary will be dependant on experience. We are open to considering either a CFO or Financial Director, depending on the experience of the successful candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement the development of the financial strategy across all areas of the business.
  • Challenge assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and
  • Provide financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans and targets.
  • Lead in the preparation and implementation of tendering documents and purchasing practices; with a particular focus on the financial elements of supplier relationships.
  • Manage recruitment, motivation, selection, training, promotion of staff and strategic planning for the existing finance department (currently a team of 2)
  • Preparation of statutory financial reports, responsibility for accounting procedures etc.
  • The CFO/FD will play a crucial role in venture funding rounds and institutional investment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience of operating effectively at a senior level.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively as part of a start-up.
  • Ability to work with a high level of autonomy.
  • Proven ability to establish and manage a rolling debt facility.
  • Experience in managing the financial components of Series A - C funding rounds.
  • Excellent leadership, management, communication, presentation, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in the principles, methods, techniques and tools for the preparation and monitoring of budgets to maximise cost effectiveness.
  • Qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA would be advantageous
  • Prior experience of M&A would also be advantageous
  • Prior experience in scaling a start-up through growth-stage funding and beyond would be very advantageous as well as group accounting across multiple geographies.
