Introduction
Our client, a leading importer and supplier of fresh, frozen, and FMCG products into the Seychelles hospitality and retail marketplace, with operations spanning across the three largest islands in Seychelles. Through its two subsidiary companies, they are also a key importer and supplier of hardware products into Seychelles as well as a supplier of food and other consumable products to Seychelles based fishing fleets and visiting foreign ships.
They are currently looking for a dynamic candidate for the newly created position of Assistant Financial Accountant. You will form part of the Accounting team based in Seychelles but you will be based in Durban, from where the Financial Accounting responsibilities are performed.
Job Description:
Reporting to and working together with the Durban based Financial Accountant in all Financial Accounting matters of the company and its subsidiaries, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

* Preparation of monthly Management Accounts
* Maintaining financial statements
* General Ledger account reconciliations
* Account and variance analyses
* Intercompany account reconciliations
* Assisting with the management of month-end and year-end closings
* Cash control
* Preparation of month-end and year-end working paper files
* Management of annual audits
* Preparation and execution of two payrolls
* Annual budget preparation
* Other administrative tasks
Experience and Skills:

* Exceptional Accounting skills
* Excellent Excel skills
* Experience in working with intercompany accounts
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Good command of the English language
* Experience in dealing with FOREX

Academic Qualifications:

* Must have a Bachelors Degree with Accounting as a major
Work Experience:

* Five years progressive accounting experience, preferably in a similar role
* Proven track record. Audit experience an advantage
