Reporting to the Head of Pricing, this role has accountability for delivering pricing and product development of market leading protection products. Leading a team of actuarial analysts and technicians, the successful candidate will work closely with marketing and Intermediary sales teams to deliver new and innovative products to their chosen distributors. Key duties:
• Monitor Intermediary product performance, ensuring that product pricing supports the delivery of the overall AIG Life pricing strategy
• Propose tactical pricing actions for Intermediary products to the Trading Forum to support the achievement on new business volume and value targets
• Embed deep understanding of price elasticity of Intermediated protection products
• Provide market intelligence to AIG Life via management of portal business intelligence, ensure business intelligence provision fit for purpose and integrated with AIG Life pricing processes
• Ensure Intermediary products maintain compliance with AIG Life's Value for Money framework
• Analyze drivers of business performance and emerging experience
• Support development new protection products and develop existing products to maintain a market leading proposition
• Pricing lead in winning new Intermediated distribution
• Ensure robust and scalable processes are embedded for the ongoing pricing and monitoring of AIG life products
• Lead Intermediary pricing team ensuring staff are motivated, coached and developed in order to deliver to their full potentialWhat we're looking for:
• Newly or nearly qualified actuary, ideally with protection pricing experience at either a direct insurer or reinsurer with in depth knowledge of reinsurance structures, pricing approaches and profit measures
• Able to summarize large amounts of data to draw conclusions and spot trends
• Ability to lead a diverse team, motivate, inspire and drive results
• Knowledge of the UK Protection market (competitors, distribution, products) essential
• Excellent communication skills, ability to work effectively with cross functional teams
• Highly organized, attention to detail and delivery focused
