Management Accounts Manager required for well respected Housing Association

Client Details

Leading Sussex based Housing Association are looking to recruit a Management Accounts Manager on a 12-month fixed term contract basis.

Reporting to the Head of Accounting and managing 4 members of staff you will be expected to lead the management accounts team through a deadline driven month end process, produce the management accounts enabling the executive management team to make informed decisions. Description

• Manage and ensure financial control is maintained throughout the period end close
• Manage the production of business unit management accounts and budget-holder reports
• Build a relationship with colleagues to ensure there is value adding reporting across the Group
• Manage and ensure accounts are prepared accurately and in line with current group accounting requirements
• Continually improve the quality, timeliness and relevance of all management information produced by the Finance Directorate
• Production of Regulatory returns to the group
• Production of the corporate metrics for use in the management accounts
• Manage the Co-ordination of non-financial information for analysis
• Provide the Group's external and internal auditors with the information they require carrying out their audit work
• Develop the team to provide outstanding Customer Service across the business
• Participate in appropriate cross departmental teams and provide high level financial and business reporting support
• Provide support as and when required to the Director of Operational Finance
• Manage the month end process which includes communication of month end reporting deadlines across finance and the business more broadly
• Manage the team through 1:1s, and the Group Appraisal process. Set objectives, coach and support team development, measure progress, motivate and address performance issues to ensure that an individual's potential is maximised

Profile

ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified

• Experienced user of financial database ledger systems.
• Experience of using management reporting systems
• Understanding of financial transactions from books of prime entry through to financial statements
• Experience of designing ad hoc reports
• A working knowledge of current financial reporting standards
• Experience of Group consolidation adjustments
• Experience of working in a finance position within a large organisation
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet agreed deadlines
• Strong project and stakeholder management experience
• Highly skilled in Excel and other MS office applications
• Able to learn quickly and understand the needs of budget holders
