Fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Financial Manager to join an international consulting, digital services and software business based in Cape Town.

The company help millions of people, by delivering innovative solutions to transform and simplify the connections between businesses and customers, governments and citizens. They operate in the UK, Europe, India and South Africa and across six divisions Software, IT & Networks, People Solutions, Customer Management, Government Services and Specialist Services.

The successful candidate will work closely with a business unit creating a real and active partnership with operational areas. You will provide 'real time' support and analysis, to be a trusted adviser and to add value that will assist in decision making.

Key Performance Areas

Operational Client Contract Support
  • Improving the impact, and understanding, of financial reporting on business performance
  • Providing analysis and delivering insight that links financial reports to business strategies
  • Providing effective commercial procedures, or initiating change, to ensure key operational, commercial and financial targets are delivered
  • Building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with all senior managers and their teams

SA Reporting
  • Responsible for reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Monthly input to SAP and Axiom financial systems
  • Management of the invoicing and cash cycle for external clients

Implementation of Guidance and Policy
  • Implements, maintains and manages the cascading of all relevant policies & procedures to team members
  • Reports all health & safety incidents to the Occupational Health and Safety Officer on site
  • Ensure safe working practices are adopted by themselves and other employees in their work areas to maintain a safe working environment for employees and clients - these are defined in the staff handbook
  • Work in compliance with the code of conduct and its commitment to equal opportunities

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications
  • BCom (Accounting, Finance or Management accounting) (Complete)
  • Qualified Accountant or related NQF Level 8 qualification is preferred but not essential

Minimum Experience
  • At least 5 years experience of which 2 years has been gained within a similar role
  • SAP
  • Advanced practical experience in Excel
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
  • Outstanding communication and people skills

  • General Ledgers
  • Vat Returns
  • Financial Integrity and Control
  • New systems transitioning
  • Procurement/Supplier management
  • CAPEX

Salary
  • R360,000 R600,000 pa, depending on experience and qualification
