Our client is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their growing Finance team based in Kidlington. This role will also have two direct reports.

Description

The Management Accountant duties will include:

• Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts for around 15 legal entities, including holding companies and operating companies:
  • Ensure accurate calculation and posting of all items including revenue, payroll, property costs, and general accruals and prepayments
  • Overseeing or carrying out monthly control account reconciliations across all companies (e.g. bank, debtors, cash in transit, creditors, stock, fixed assets, inter-company, PAYE/NI, wages control)
  • Analyse and provide explanations for trends and variances to budget/prior year/prior month
• Cash handling reconciliations including checking daily/weekly cashing up sheets, reconciling credit card takings/unposted remits/unbanked cash
• Collation and checking of monthly payroll data, submission to payroll provider
• Maintain details of property leases and oversee accounting and payment of property rent, rates, service charges
• Calculation and posting of loan interest
• Management of 2 accounts staff who have responsibility for bank postings and recs, A/P postings and recs/payment runs, fixed asset maintenance and accruals/prepayments postings
• Oversee purchase ledger and supplier payment runs
• Support cash flow forecasting process
• Collation and provision of information for annual audits
• Assist with completion of VAT returns
• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline finance processes
• Ad hoc work as required by the business

Profile

The successful Management Accountant will be:

• Part qualified accountant or qualified by experience
• Experienced in producing management accounts in a multi company environment
• Able to produce accurate monthly management accounts, able to identify and focus on areas of risk
• Works to strict timetable
• Experienced people manager
• Strong Excel user, comfortable with data queries, pivot tables, sumifs etc
• Experience in multi-site consumer facing business
• Sage 50 cloud would be an advantage

Job Offer

The Management Accountant can expect to earn a salary between £35,000 and £45,000 dependent upon experience and qualifications, plus a generous benefits package.
