This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to establish a long-term career with huge future growth potential within a well-known international business. As Finance Assistant, you will be based in Central London responsible for the efficient delivery of day to day accounting activities in the REIM Finance Team, having responsibility for accounts payable, receivable and month end activities.

They operate in 9 countries, 55 cities and across two regions, EMEA and APAC, with a business model based on the global hotel industry giants, they want to expand and improve the scale, reach, and quality of student accommodation globally.

Description

The Finance Assistant will be responsible for the following:

The key objectives:

  • Support Finance Manager in month end process and day to day tasks
  • Support credit controller with in the AP process
  • Establish strong reputation within the finance team for processing and account maintenance
  • Maintenance of monthly reporting timeline

Treasury Management

  • Use of electronic banking portals and administration
  • Working with the Financial Analyst, on receipt and timing of contractor payments
  • Ensure timely processing of AP payment runs
  • Payment of monthly staff expenses
  • Provide the bank statements for weekly cash flow to financial analyst

Accounts Payable

  • Proactively promote Accounts Payable Standard processes and compliance around the business
  • Support credit controller in supplier set-up
  • Booking of invoice processing within the Fund and MANCO entities
  • Drive PO and invoice authorisation compliance within the business
  • Provide preparation of payment runs
  • Provide monthly review and preparation of VAT reports

Accounts Receivable

  • Preparation of REIM monthly fee invoices
  • Running month end revenue recognition forecasts

Monthly Processes

  • Assistance on intercompany reconciliations
  • Producing monthly bank reconciliations within the MANCO
  • Import of externally managed TB's into NetSuite
  • Supporting the finance team with month-end and year-end processes
  • Ensure all documentation and approvals are in order regarding expense reports
  • Responsible for the Audit process within REIM, preparing schedules for external auditors for the financial statement audit process and as needed
  • Supporting third parties in the preparation of all statutory returns and financial statements
  • Work with external tax advisers ensuring appropriate VAT/Income tax reporting
  • Prepare and maintain Global balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules for our international entities
  • Ongoing review and commentary on actual performance against budget/forecast

Profile

The successful Finance Assistant:

  • Degree Level education in relevant course e.g Accounting & Finance, Business
  • Minimum 1 years experience in related role, experience of both Accounts Payable and Receivable
  • Intermediate level Excel (v-look ups, pivot tables)
  • Oracle Netsuite experience (preferred not essential)
  • Actively studying ACCA/CIMA qualification
  • Business level knowledge of either Spanish or German (preferred not essential)
  • Previous experience within Real Estate or Student Accommodation industry (preferred not essential)
  • Initiative - Proactive approach to work with good instincts to spot discrepancies. Copes well with high volumes of work and thrives in a fast-paced complex work environment. Able to solve problems as they arise.
  • Interpersonal skills - Comfortable with forming and presenting (where required) well analysed paper/presentations to individuals or groups.

Job Offer

The successful Finance Assistant will receive a competitive salary of £25,000 - £28,000 depending on experience along with these other benefits:
