A stalwart of the Australian retail landscape with 500+ retail outlets across Australia and in the process of taking the brand to an international audience.

THE OPPORTUNITY
The Senior Payroll Officer will assume the position of SME when it comes to Super, WorkCover, Payroll Tax and compliance across the wider team processing pays for 15000+ nationally based employees. Particular areas of focus will be:
  • Assist the wider team with complex and escalated Payroll queries
  • Prepare and process selected adjustment pay-runs including the calculations of all pay-related amendments and allowances
  • Process, transmit and balance adjustment pays
  • Generate reports, complete system audits, review and refine existing payroll processes ensuring appropriate auditing procedures are followed
  • Process Payroll Tax for the entire Group and manage registrations of new business entities
  • Prepare, submit and reconcile Superannuation Contributions on a monthly basis (via Clearing House)
  • Maintain the Superannuation Portal with current business unit details
  • Assist with WorkCover administration including the preparation of documentation including forms, returns, reconciliation, recoveries, insurance premium Registrations and payment
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of Employment Law, Taxation, Superannuation, Legislation and Award changes and National Employment Standards

CHALLENGES
As with any multi-site business with a lot of nationally based employees paid under Awards and EBA's, volume + complexity is the challenge. Throw the growth of the brand into the mix - this is not a role for the faint of heart!

IDEAL APPLICANTS
You will present with all the requisite skills and experience of a tenured Payroll Professional - organised/attention to detail/multitasking ability/stakeholder liaison at all levels etc.

In addition to this, you will:
  • Know your way around MS Excel (Pivot Table, Lookup's) and have experience running the month-end process
  • Have worked with T&A systems and have solid experience with Award interpretation
  • Be someone who is continually seeking to develop your own skills and to increase your team's overall knowledge
