Internal Audit Manager
  • Be a key contributor to the Suncorp Internal Audit plan
  • Help Suncorp achieve its internal control objectives
  • Permanent opportunity based in Brisbane or Sydney

The Role

As the Audit Manager, you will deliver high quality audits which assist the organisation achieve its objectives through the promotion of effective internal controls. The focus will be on assessing the control environment across Insurance (and other portfolios as needed).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end audits, project reviews and special ad hoc reviews in accordance with Suncorp Internal Audit Methodology
  • Deliver reliable assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of the control environment across Insurance
  • Provide input to the annual Suncorp Group Internal Audit plan to ensure high risk areas are identified
  • Monitor status of audit issues and progress of agreed management actions plans and report these to the APM/EAM
  • Analyse management action plans to ensure that risks will be controlled within the Board's tolerance levels
  • Help drive internal Audit improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and/or efficiency of audit delivery
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the Internal Audit function providing advice and guidance, coaching and mentoring to team members

Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in Financial Services, Internal Auditing and/or External Audit
  • Knowledge of principles, practices and technologies of auditing and/or risk management and of the requirements of the Standards of Professional Practice of the Institute of Internal Auditors
  • Demonstrate competencies, as defined by the Internal Audit Competency Framework including business knowledge and commercial awareness, technical, leadership, teamwork and client relationship management
  • Relevant qualifications from professional bodies such as IIA, ICAA, ISACA, AIBF or CPA will be regarded but not mandatory
  • Degree qualification - Accounting, Finance, IT or related field desirable
