A reputable business are seeking an immediate start from a Payroll Officer with strong technical knowledge across interpreting various awards, EBA's and workers compensation. This role will provide a busy and varied role within as a standalone function. Due to an increase in workload, and internal projects, this role will offer the right candidate a stable 6 months, with the possibility to extend.

Your Profile
This position will compliment a Payroll professional who has end to end payroll experience within a medium to large organisation, exposure to reconciling payroll ledgers, setting up of new employees, terminations, Interpreting awards and EA's and queries.
There will be a minimal handover, so someone who can work in a high pressure environment, and retain information well will be a standout candidate.

The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager you're responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently
- Collecting, calculating and entering data in order to maintain and update payroll information
- Check, enquire and update timesheets on a fortnight basis
- Prepare employee's payments by end of each fortnight using payroll software
- Schedule bank payments and distribute pay slips to employees
- Ensure annual leave, personal leave, long service and any other leave entitlements are processed correctly
- Calculating redundancy and exits/termination payments
- Calculate and make payments on payroll liabilities (PAYG and superannuation)
- Resolving payroll discrepancies and back payments as required
- Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures
- Provide month end payroll reports to the manager for month end journals
- Address questions regarding staff salaries, wages, allowances, taxes and deductions
- Assisting with ad-hoc financial and reporting and support to HR as required
- Appropriately seek clarification on payroll matter with manager/coordinators
- Other ad-hoc tasks as required
