Currently, Evalueserve works with 9 of the top 10 investment banks and several hedge funds and buy-side firms. Over 500 associates globally provide credit and equity research support to these clients.

The Equity Research Associate will provide on-site research support to our global investment bank client located in New York, NY. The associate will be an extension of the client’s team and will be responsible for creating/maintaining detailed financial models, writing company notes and reports, performing competitive analysis of the sector, tracking industry news, analyzing macro-economic parameters, and other performing other maintenance activities like quarterly earnings updates, database management, etc. 

Responsibilities:

  • Building/maintaining financial models to support new and existing stock coverage with support and direction from the existing team
  • Helping maintain industry data-sets & forecasts
  • Be-spoke industry project work
  • Detailed financial modeling – historical and forecasts
  • Company valuation involving approaches such as DCF, DDM, Trading and transaction multiples, EVA, etc.
  • Report-writing including company profiles, earning notes, quarterly updates, initiating coverage reports, sector reports, newsletters technology primers, Theme-based reports etc.
  • Real-time earnings support
  • Handling ad-hoc research requests as per client requirements
  • Collecting relevant financial data using websites and other secondary sources such as Bloomberg, Reuters and other databases

Requirements:

  • Equity Research experience – 2 to 5 years tracking (or interest in tracking) the following sectors:
    • Bio Tech
    • Life Science
    • Gaming/Leisure
    • Alternative Energy/Renewables
    • Insurance
  • Competent in financial analysis, fundamental ratio analysis.
  • An eye towards detail and accuracy, cross checking work for reasonableness and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently on projects within the guidance of senior analysts
  • Results & output oriented
  • Ability to communicate with logical, fact-based English writing
  • Intellectually curious and confident.  Willing to speak-up if something seems “wrong”, willingness to suggest ideas/brainstorm process and research improvements.
  • CFA preferred, open to range of experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint, VBA Skills
  • Capital markets experience
  • Strong skills in financial analysis and report writing
  • CPA or CFA certification or interest in being certified
  • Knowledge of database tools – Bloomberg, Reuters and other financial data systems
