As a Consultive CPA, you will be a self-motivated, successful, well-organized self-starter, with high energy, immense knowledge on reviewing taxes for individuals and businesses, and the capacity to work in a collaborative team environment that is results oriented. This position is for a full-time team member at our privately owned, fee-based wealth management firm reporting to the Owner and is designed for the right individual who has a comprehensive knowledge of various tax planning tools and tax reduction strategies. For the ideal team member, equity in the firm would be a consideration.

Responsibilities

This position is client facing where you will cultivate relationships with prospective and existing clients, utilizing your expansive knowledge in tax preparations and tax strategies to provide them wholistic tax planning. You will work with clients helping them to meet their tax needs, as well as offer any advantageous tax strategies that will benefit the clients in the short and long term.

Common job responsibilities include communicating with clients, analyzing tax documents, utilizing advantageous tax solutions, and cultivating relationships with our established client base. You must have an expansive knowledge of tax preparation and tax procedures to offer the clients proactive tax planning and tax reduction strategies.

An intelligent, articulate communication style is critical. You must be able to take complicated tax and tax reduction concepts and interpret them for our client base. The ability to use tax planning software, client relationship management systems, and research tools are necessary for success in this position. You are welcome to bring a book of business where support will be provided for a successful transition.

Essential Job Duties

  • Gather and utilize financial, tax, and legal data from clients
  • Review tax returns, payments, necessary paperwork, and reports for individuals and small businesses
  • Evaluate and research challenging client related tax issues to identify solutions that reduce tax burden
  • Determine tax savings and tax reduction strategies and recommend strategies to clients
  • Ensure you comply with regulations by forwarding required information to federal, state, and local authorities
  • Field phone calls from clients and respond to clients emails
  • Work closely with clients to obtain tax information regarding potential deductions, educational grants, allowances, or other various reduction strategies
  • Keep updated with industry trends and changes related to taxes

Qualifications

  • CPA required
  • 4-8 years of experience working in tax preparation with individuals and businesses
  • Knowledge of tax preparation best practices, terminology, and concepts
  • In-depth knowledge of tax review and tax reduction strategies for individuals and businesses
  • Must have ability to multitask, build relationships, and think strategically to deliver proactive tax planning and tax reduction strategies to clients
  • Professional experience working with clients and team members
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Capacity to work in a collaborative team environment that is results-oriented
  • Must be detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills
