WA PCYC is looking for a dedicated and passionate professional to take up the exciting and challenging full-time role of Finance Manager at WA PCYC Head Office in Subiaco!

WA PCYC is an incredible organisation that changes the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people at risk in Western Australia.
We currently operate in 16 locations, with 10 regional and six metropolitan centres and numerous, Blue Light Youth Activities and Police Ranger Units across the state. Profile Position

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking for a new challenge. Reporting to the Executive Manager, Finance & Business Services (EM, F&BS) the Finance Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department and will assist the EM, F&BS with the financial, resource and business management of WA PCYC in accordance with organisational policies, legislative requirements and within budgetary constraints.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within WA PCYC, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions;
  • Assist the EM, F&BS with the budget management process and make recommendations to drive efficiencies and effectiveness;
  • Prepare financial reports, including preparation of annual budgets and monthly management reports for board members, stakeholders, executives, centre managers, and clients in formal meetings;
  • Prepare Special Purpose Financial Statements and grant acquittals as required and for annual audit, and liaise with external auditors;
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reports and forecasts are prepared to aid the achievement of ongoing organisational and financial success, including cash flow forecasts;
  • Provide insightful information and expectations to managers to aid in long-term and short-term decision making;
  • Liaise with Executive Managers, members of the leadership team and Centre Managers on a regular basis about budgets, finances, invoices, grants management, centre management costs and financial reporting requirements;
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, including Fringe Benefits Tax;
  • Assist the EM,F&BS to identify and manage risks to ensure compliance with statutory obligations and industry standards by strategically planning, designing and implementing best practise risk management framework for WA PCYC;
  • Assist the EM,F&BS to ensure compliance in business processes, systems and actions by developing policies, procedures and systems to support the efficient and effective operation of the Finance function;
  • Deliver a high performing team by ensuring that all Human Resources activities in the Finance team are conducted in a timely and effective manner, including recruitment, performance reviews, team development and disciplinary management.

Skills and Experience:
  • CA/CPA or equivalent qualifications.
  • Proven experience operating in a commercial role, where experience in continuous improvement would be highly regarded.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative management style and the ability to forge highly productive internal and external working relationships.
  • Exceptional financial acumen, with the ability to interpret and advise non-finance personnel to achieve performance within budget.
  • Professional and personable, with a strong capability to remain objective, unbiased and balanced in challenging environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial, taxation, payroll, commercial and corporations' legislation.
  • Ability to contribute to the organisation's vision and strategic direction and how this impacts the organisation.
