Within Business Modelling and Analytics we have established a rapidly growing Analytics offering and arecurrently looking for exceptional individuals with strong experience in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies to join the teamat Executive level.
The opportunity
We work with major corporate and private equity clients, investment banks, large central government departments and other public sector bodies, advising them on complex strategic, commercial, financial and operational decisions.
Our projects often involve managing multiple stakeholders and high degrees of complexity and uncertainty. Decision making in this environment requires strong client management and communication skills, rigorous analytical techniques and excellent data handling skills.
Our work typically involves constructing purpose built databases storing large client datasets for our analytical models, using data wrangling tools, visualisation tools, programming and statistical tools (such as R and Python), to derive insight through forecasting calculations and simulations, in a fast moving transaction environment.
Although the Business Modelling team is largely London-based, we operate as a national team and many of our engagements involve multi-national clients. This role will most likely require some travel within the UK and could require overseas working from time to time.
Your key responsibilities
As an Executive within our Analytics team, you will support the design of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning solutions, undertaking proof-of-concepts, and implementing these solutions to help clients to compete effectively in this dynamic environment. You'll have the opportunity to design and build complex database models to perform analysis on large diverse datasets. In addition, you will:
- Actively involved throughout the life-cycle of an assignment - requirements definition, specification, data collection, solution design, development, documentation, implementation and user training.
- Work directly with clients as well as other EY specialist teams.
- Manage clients' expectations in relation to deliverables.
- Identify risk on the assignment, involving Director / Partner appropriately in its resolution.
Skills and attributes for success
We are looking for candidates who are visually creative, with a good understanding of UX aesthetics.
To qualify for the role you must have
- Qualification in Computer Science, Operational Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or highly numerate science.
- Experience in applying analytical techniques (e.g. Naïve Bayes, Decision trees, Random Forest, XG Boost and K-means), to calculate problems such as predictive forecasting, prescriptive action, capacity planning.
- Experience in building models in R, C++, Java or Python programming languages and libraries.
- Strong understanding and experience of data science software and proven track record of applying it in financial services.
Ideally, you'll also have
- Highly numerate with strong technical knowledge and experience of applying analytical and modelling techniques to provide insights to business issues.
- Ability to work with clients and model users to identify their particular use case requirements, to design appropriate solutions to load data, perform complex calculations, derive corollaries and deliver interfaces tools to provide repeatable visual output.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience of financial reporting.
- Experience of Visualisation packages including Tableau, Qlikview, Power BI and Spotfire
- Experience of large cloud based data warehouse environments.
- Experience working with large unstructured data, using predictive & prescriptive modelling techniques
- Experience in SQL Server, MS Excel and VBA is required.
- Experience of working in a professional services environment, including exposure to high profile transactions.
