Your new company
Hays Accountancy & Finance are excited to be exclusively supporting a leading manufacturing and distribution business based in Evesham with the recruitment of an Accountant on a permanent basis.

Your new role
Reporting into the Divisional Financial Controller, you'll join a small team and be responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyse financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control measures are in place.

Main duties:

• Oversee bank account reconciliations
• Preparation of intercompany account reconciliations
• Posting of journals
• Three-way matches of supplier expense and stock invoices for UK entities
• Maintenance of the European division's general ledger, generation of month-end reports and closing of ledgers
• Direct responsibility for the preparation and submission of monthly management accounts to Group
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Financial and commercial analysis including customer profitability reports, stock movement reports etc.
• Preparation and submission of EC Sales Listings, Intrastat and VAT returns
• Assist in the preparation and processing of annual financial plans
• Completion of reporting packs at year-end
• Support with internal and external audits
• Supports and tests new ERP and software implementations

What you'll need to succeed

• Fully qualified or part-qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA) - QBE will be considered
• Minimum of 5 years' relevant accounting experience
• Strong technical accounting skills
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to make recommendations
• Exposure to average or standard costing and an understanding of inventory movements (highly desirable)
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and European IFRS and SOX compliance (desirable)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to interact effectively with people at all levels
• Ability to work independently and be both detail and project oriented
• IT proficient with good working knowledge of MS Office and applicable financial software programs including Oracle
