We currently have the opportunity for an Audit Manager to help coach and develop a high performing team as well as be a vital part of our journey in helping our clients as they grow. ESV is always looking to increase our offering to our clients and we are looking for a Manager that has a passion for innovation and has the ability to drive change.

Purpose of the position

The Audit Manager will work closely with the Partners to service ESV's clients with audit and assurance services, develop new business for the firm and mentor the team. The client base is medium size businesses with turnovers ranging from $2 million - $200 million, that includes listed clients, privately owned, multinational and not for profit. The industry segments of ESV's clients includes wholesale distribution, manufacturers, AFSL holders, property developers, transport, funds management and service industries.

The successful candidate will be working alongside partners with extensive business and accounting experiences who are forward thinking. The Audit Manager will be responsible to:
  • Take a lead role in the audit planning phase, including systems documentation, analysis of internal control systems, generation of overall audit plan and approach and of the audit program detailing the nature, timing and extent of audit procedures
  • Challenge how we do things, introduce audit techniques using data analytics tools
  • Close or assist the partner in closing the audit process including preparation of close reports and management of letters; liaising with clients and regulatory authorities
  • Prepare reports summarising opportunities for improvement in client process, use of technology, cash flow and funding
  • Provide leadership to the Audit team, supporting their professional development and career progression
  • Proactively identify and advise clients on process improvement opportunities
  • Deliver advisory and consulting services to clients across the practice to help clients improve their finance function and provide insights from data analysis
  • Be involved in business development activities

Skills and Qualification

Required
  • Audit Manager experience
  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Experience leading audit engagements from planning through to completion, servicing clients with up to 100 million turnover
  • Ability to lead and mentor and motivate a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop positive client relationships
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Thinks outside the square and is proactive and curious in mindset
  • Exposure to electronic audit documentation systems such as Caseware, Idea

Desirable
  • Value ad / Business advisory skills - such as due diligence, business modelling or acting in a financial controller capacity, process improvement
  • Finance Services and AFSL License experience
