Job Details

Your new company
Hays are currently recruiting for a very exciting and well-established company based in Norwich. This company has a strong presence in the UK and across Europe as well as having a US based parent company giving stability and direction. A successful wholesale and retail organisation with growth plans over the next 5 years but with a small and warm team environment here in the UK.

Your new role
The main purpose of the role will be to oversee the entire end to end credit function and support the wider finance team and the sales department regarding income. The ledger has been well maintained and you will be looking after around 1000 live customer accounts collecting an annual revenue stream of around £7-8m. Specifically your job duties will include:

  • Ensuring automated invoices are generated correctly
  • Taking a proactive approach to cash collection from a portfolio of commercial customers
  • Managing credit limits
  • Receiving payments and allocating cash
  • Working with sales to build and develop customer relationships
  • Managing a UK and overseas database
  • Resolving invoice queries
  • Producing aged debt reports and ad hoc MI for the Finance Manager and FD

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours a week between Monday and Friday. Initially the role will require office attendance to be trained and to learn the system but from then on there will be a hybrid approach to working.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need a proven track record of managing a busy credit function and dealing with escalated queries. Ideally you will be CICM qualified or be studying to that end but this is not essential. You will have a customer focus at the heart of everything you do to maintain the existing and longstanding customer relationships. You must have strong communication skills and ideally have worked within a similar wholesale/retail business previously. You will need to have experience in UK and overseas collections and if you are able to speak any foreign languages that would be advantageous.

What you'll get in return
This company offers a competitive salary, free on site parking and potentially flexible working for some portion of the week. You will also receive a healthy pension contribution, death in service benefit among other benefits.
