Job Details

Working in a small Finance team of 5, and reporting to the Finance Manager. The Finance Assistant (Purchase Ledger & Treasury) role will have the opportunity to progress with the company.

As well as Purchasing, this role will be heavily involved with cashflow management and treasury. This person will also have involvement with the management accounting and budgeting and forecasting.

Client Details

A well established, medium sized business, based in offices in the Walton-on-Thames area with free parking provided and easy access via public transport.

This is a very friendly and welcoming company, and the role will suit someone who enjoys working in a small team with a broad range of responsibilities. The role will also enable the job holder room to develop their existing Finance skills.

Home working is available - this is expected to be 1-2 days per week from home in the long term.

Description

The Finance Assistant (Purchase Ledger & Treasury) role involves:

  • Maintain good relationships with suppliers.
  • Review supplier statements.
  • Payments - Issue as required payment runs in GBP, Euros and USD, complying with the correct processes and approval requirements.
  • Process overhead invoices to correct general ledger accounts
  • Manage the weekly cashflow forecasting process with support of the Finance Manager.
  • Reporting - producing regular and ad hoc reports to deadlines as required.
  • Process stock invoices when required.
  • Deal with any purchase invoice queries in a timely fashion.
  • Manage the treasury requirements of the company to include management of the invoice discounting facility and bank reconciliations on a regular basis.
  • Provide analysis relating to variances and creditor ageing for monthly management account preparation and reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budgets and quarterly forecasting process.
  • To undertake, as directed, any other duties as may be commensurate with the overall efficient running of the Company.

Role Includes:

To assist with sales ledger, nominal ledger and cash books as required.

Profile

The ideal candidate for the Finance Assistant (Purchase Ledger & Treasury) role;

  • MUST have strong Purchase Ledger experience
  • will ideally have foreign currency experience
  • Previous Treasury experience is highly advantageous.
  • SAP experience (highly desirable, but not essential)
  • AAT level 2/3 (or fully qualified) is highly desirable. Note - study support is provided.
  • will have a desire to develop your Finance skills (note - this is a small Finance team so progression will be in the form of broader duties, as opposed to moving up the ladder).

Job Offer

The Finance Assistant (Purchase Ledger & Treasury) role offers a competitive salary of circa £27,000, plus benefits including; 10% pension, 25 days holiday, income protection, and more.
