Client Details

A brand-new Group of companies in the services space who are establishing themselves in Grantham, and are looking for a new practice-trained financial accountant to lead the Reporting team.

Description

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • To continually review, challenge and assist in the development of all financial based systems and procedures in use across the company
  • Overall co-ordination and management of the Group's Statutory Reporting, a group of c10 companies
  • Assist in technical accounting projects including implementation of new financial reporting standards
  • Provide assistance to the CFO & Group Financial Controller on matters relating to the carveout/intended merger of the companies as a result of a pending transaction
  • Organise and liaise, together with the GFC, the Group Audit and relationship with the Group Auditors
  • Working with the GFC to ensure that all corporate tax matters are managed and met,
  • Ensure the Group's accounting policies are adhered to, and assist in the evaluation and implementation of new policies
  • Improve and documents accounting policies and procedures within the group
  • Assist in Forecasting reviews, ensuring that 'local' monthly submissions are consistent with current levels of business activity, and where necessary challenging unrealistic expectations and assisting businesses to improve overall levels of Forecasting accuracy.
  • Adherence to reporting deadlines is essential, as is the ability to produce value-added commentaries and supporting documents for senior executives as required
  • Establish new reporting structure for the group as required
  • Assist the CFO and GFC in ad hoc projects as required

Profile

  • A fully qualified accountant ACA, ACCA or CIMA - Ideally with first-time passes
  • High-level of proficiency in MS Office products
  • Experience of preparing financial statements under UK GAAP
  • Ability to develop and maintain working partnerships
  • Strong verbal & written communication ability
  • Experience of project management and presentation skills. You must have the ability to influence senior engagement.
  • Experience of working in Financial Services (or support of) preferred
  • Experience of Corporation Tax would be helpful
  • IFRS desirable
