UK wide quality food manufacturer for the top UK grocery retailer that have seen rapid growth and expansion.

Description

Assisting the Group Financial Controller with reporting improvements, including, but not

restricted to:

· Automation of weekly and monthly group reporting processes, initially in Excel,

potentially later including a system-driven solution, removing manual data entry and

manipulation wherever possible

· Preparation of monthly board packs to provide business insight - finding the 'why', not

just the 'what'

· Improving financial reporting processes, including the introduction of a Group Finance

Manual, and working with site teams on the implementation

· Implementation of proper financial control and governance checks, including performing

central reviews of balance sheet reconciliations

· Other ad-hoc projects as required

· Driving improved insight from the development of reporting cubes particularly on sales

margin and raw material cost

Preparation of financial models:

· Assistance with input into the budget, strategic plan and forecast models for internal

reporting and banking requirements

Providing finance input into commercial negotiations to help us make more informed decisions:

· Understanding product line profitability

· Understanding customer price tracker agreements' data requirements and modelling

them before they are agreed and signed up to

· Overrider and rebate monitoring

Assisting the Group Financial Controller with oversight of the Group Finance function including review of the monthly numbers, covenant compliance, input into the insurance programme, direct and indirect tax compliance, and preparation of the annual accounts.

Profile

Qualified ACA ACCA CIMA from Practice or industry

anything that doesn't look or feel right

· Ability to influence and gain the trust of remote finance teams who report to a local GM

· Able to influence effectively with verbal and written communications

· An ability to spot errors and improvement opportunities, for example, when a reconciliation is

not a reconciliation

· Organised, with a commitment to achieving deadlines

· A pragmatic approach to problem solving

· Comfortable working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, in an FMCG business

working to very short lead times (often only hours) and happy to tackle something for the first

time

· A flexible approach to work, hours and location

· Strong IT Skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, data analysis tools would be a bonus

Experience:

Taking responsibility for delivery of quality, whether as an audit in-charge/assistant manager or a management accountant An eye for spotting how things can be done better

Comfortable with Excel, but you don't need to know how to do everything

Knowledge of FRS 102

Experience with data analysis tools would be a benefit

No need for prior FMCG/Food industry experience
