This business is going through a period of significant change and need a Management Accountant to assist with the current workload.

Client Details

My client is a growing Financial Services business based in Cardiff.

Description

Due to excessive workload, my client, a large Financial Services organisation are looking to recruit a Management Accountant on an initial 6 month FTC basis.

Working with the Financial Controller and Assistant Financial Controler the Management Accountant will be spread across the Financial Control function, both backfilling existing staff and assisting with project work.

The role will include;

Month end reporting

  • Undertake EIR and IFRS9 output testing and validation and collation of results for presentation to CFO and Head of Risk
  • Produce monthly accounts for regulated entities to enable correct calculation of capital requirements
  • Produce monthly management accounts for submission to funding provider
  • Assist with the development and rollout of monthly reporting models across business areas

Regulatory & Statutory reporting

  • Extend and improve MLAR reporting into consistent process for regulated entities
  • Assist with improvements on statutory accounts production in preparation for 2021 year end

Project work:-

  • Assist with the General Ledger set up and journal posting on integration of 2 FCA regulated entities, ensuring that both legal entity and business line reporting is achieved
  • Assist with the development of testing scripts and undertake testing of changes to the TechOne General ledger in respect of efficiency improvements (bank accounts, fixed assets, making tax digital)
  • Work with the Costs team within Financial Control to develop and implement a recharge process across legal entities under the new merged structure.
  • Develop reporting models in line with the new Hedging strategy, delivering accurate month end results for hedging balances and swap interest accruals.

Other Responsibilities

  • Assist with policy updates, combining and merging policies from 2 business areas
  • Other adhoc work as required to support the team during a time of extensive change

Profile

You will ideally be a Qualified Accountant holding ACA, ACCA or CIMA. QBE's with significant relevant experience will be considered.

Knowledge

  • IFRS knowledge and practical application, particularly IFRS9.
  • Exposure to complex accounting structures e.g securitisations
  • Practical statutory accounts production and general ledger experience

Competencies

  • Drive and attention to detail, with a "hands on" approach
  • Strong analytical skills, including complex formulae in Excel, allied to practical experience delivering models for use by junior team members.

  • Flexible in approach - willing to work across a range of areas to assist the team
  • You will "take ownership" of the responsibilities allocated to you
  • Self-starter, can do "innovative" approach, Gets results
  • Able to work under pressure and to deal with multiple tasks efficiently and to tight deadlines

Job Offer

An initial 6 month FTC

Salary up to £55,000

Hybrid working - currently 100% home based
