This is an excellent P2P/AP Manager position for anyone who feels that they have significant experience within AP and would like to be given the opportunity to take full control of all AP aspects and managing a team of 3.

This business is an international Manufacturing and services business that prides itself on high customer satisfaction and exemplary service.

They are based in the centre of Reading but will be working on a flexible rota with WFH and are also a short walk from the centre of town.

Description

The key responsibilities of the Reading based P2P/AP Manager will be to:


Overall

* Lead and drive the AP Team. Own Procure to Pay Transformation activities and deliver
policies, controls, process and system improvements of the area delivering task efficiencies
and automation. Strong focus on people management and coaching the team to high
performance levels.


Lead the team
* Responsible for ensuring effective management and administration of the Purchase Ledger
team and allocation of tasks to achieve that end
* Own people development agenda of the AP team to promote enrichment and career
enhancement for all, equally manage any performance issues on a fair and timely basis.
* Lead on own personal development plans for self and team
* Implement and maintain regular team meetings / 1:1s for operational review, alignment
and progress towards goals
* Role Model, set tone at top, oversee the Payables Controllers to ensure they are performing
their tasks in line with objectives set
* Managing employee expenses for submission, validation, approval and settlement
* Ensure effective delegation is in operation


Cross Company:
* AP Figurehead, own messages and the liaison with internal stakeholders to resolve queries
leading to payment of monies owed.
* Procurement Figurehead, own messages and liaison with internal and external stakeholders
as to matters relating with the Purchasing Process (e.g. Adhering to Policy and Control of)
* Leading the Developing and management of vendor and employee relationships by owning
the day to day running of AP and ensuring the invoices, we received are processed within
time frame depending on payment terms.
* Leading Training programmes on AP system and processes to wider organisation.
* Communicate: Lead change programmes (e.g. System) ensuring maintenance of master
data and records and timely processing of invoices across the multiple systems.
* Strong Cross group work at Month End with Accounting team on Management of AP month
end tasks, including ensuring all intercompany recharges and ledger account journals were
submitted on time, supplier account reconciliations, checking the general ledger accounts and
cost centres to make sure costs were correctly allocated.
* Responsible to serve as the escalation point for the Payables Controller team
* Escalate unresolved or difficult matters (including queries) to the Head of Finance
Accounting / Group Financial Controller for assistance/support.
* Hold regular with procurement meeting with Key Suppliers and Internal
Stakeholder/Purchaser with the goal of constant improvement with the financial
management of the Supplier Account.

Profile

The ideal candidate will be someone who is able to show an extensive experience of working with a P2P environment whilst also having managed an AP team of any size previously.

You will also need to show your experience of adapting to new processes and procedures whilst influencing internal stakeholders to best practice.
