Senior Accountant

Job & Company Description:

A well-established international records and data management giant seeks an experienced and innovative Accountant to join their driven finance team based in Midrand.

In this role, you will take full responsibility of the accounting function for South Africa and other African countries. The primary purpose of the role is to ensure accurate and timely financial and statutory reporting and that all local and US GAAP requirements are met.

Duties include daily accounting work including payroll, fixed asset maintenance, inter-company recons and transactions, recons and banking. You will be involved in reporting, assiting and supporting of audits and year-end, as well as monitoring, design and implementations of internal controls.

Education:

Degree / Diploma in Finance or Accounting

Skills & Experience:

5 to 6 years' experience within a full function accounting role is essential

SOX and US GAAP experience is essential

Oracle experience will be highly beneficial

Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel

The ability to analyse financial information efficiently and accurately

Financial acumen

Strong personality

Ability to work in a highly pressured and fast paced environment

Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
