Job Responsibilities

This role manages and leads the FP&A and Costing and associated fiduciary responsibilities. Responsibilities include forecasting and analysis of profit & loss statements, inventory valuation cost roll, cost accounting and inventory management in the manufacturing business. Other portfolio includes cost center budgeting, execution & monitoring, managing capital budgeting, supporting various aspects of the financials and is always expected to establish a comprehensive understanding of the entity's financial position. The incumbent is expected to provide regular financial reporting to the management and will support variance analysis, drill-downs of revenue/COGs/OPEX trends.Lead the company's inventory valuation cost roll. Manage cost & inventory accounting in the Malaysia manufacturing plant. Overseeing the production labor absorption business processes through interactions with the manufacturing executives;

  • Analyze and review Bills of Material (BOMs) to ensure accurate product costing;
  • Provide inputs in projects and cost reduction initiatives, etc. as the subject matter expert for cost accounting;
  • Perform variance analysis such as production order variance and work order variance analysis, etc. and work with Operations to resolve issues quickly;
  • Support finance, product groups and other organizations in cost related areas.
  • Oversees the preparation of annual budgets. Drive the annual, quarterly and monthly forecasting processes to ensure integrity of information and performance measurements that are consistent and meaningful to the management.
  • Collaborate cross functionally on projects that impact cost and related areas pertaining to the role.
  • Assist with review and updates of controls, processes and procedures related to manufacturing finance and cost accounting and ensure SOX 404 compliance.
  • Assist with and ensure successful quarterly and year end audits and other internal/external reporting requirements.
  • Storyboarding of key headlines to senior management team on quarterly financial movements. Provide active support to ensure major decisions are made with accurate financial information in a timely manner. Prepare financial analysis and ratios on scenario planning, financial modeling for future business projection, as required.
  • Active business partnering with all internal key stakeholders. Closely engage Corporate Global Operations teams, and Corporate Finance function teams to understand business, manufacturing activities with financial impact & costing concerns.

  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Accountancy.
  • CPA will be an added advantage.
  • At least 15 years in the Finance role, with > 7 years of relevant experience in FP&A and Costing scope with good exposure and understanding of accounting and standards.
  • At least 5 years of SAP Manufacturing accounting in a manufacturing environment (subject matter expert in SAP cost accounting);
  • People Management experience within the last 7 years.
  • Conversant in use of Microsoft office applications, especially good knowledge of Power Point & advanced knowledge of Excel and ERP skills with the ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
  • Flair for systems development, demonstrated past success as subject matter expert in system solutions.

  • Ability to effectively analyze transactional level detail in an enterprise resource planning system.
  • Strong business skills and effective understanding of financial, distribution and manufacturing systems.

  • Must be able to collaborate and build positive relationships with other teams within Finance as well as departments outside Finance to effectively make recommendations, implement process improvements, etc.
  • Strong leader, with initiative and effective decision-making skills. Demonstrates a high level of professionalism, commitment and resilience to multi-task.
