A long-established privately owned retail and eCommerce business, are seeking a Financial Controller to lead a small finance team and deliver robust monthly/annual accounting, commercial insight and strategic support to the owners and board. This newly created role will be critical to allowing the business to scale and grow over the next 5 years and will be the most senior role within finance, reporting directly to the Directors. If you are an experienced Financial Controller or Finance Manager who enjoys delivering detailed monthly management reporting and analysis in a fast-paced business environment where there are huge opportunities to make an impact and drive change then this could be an ideal role for you.

Your new role

• Preparation of monthly management accounts including variance and commentary.
• Creation and ongoing production of a detailed management information pack to deliver commercial insight to the Board and Operations teams
• Business partner board and operations teams
• Process intercompany transactions.
• Ensure integrity of P&L and balance sheet, including required reconciliations
• Lead budgeting and forecasting process
• Manage annual audit and statutory accounts preparation
• Liaise closely with audit/Stat accounts provider
• Train and guide transactional finance team of 4, including training and process/efficiency improvements
• Continually seek to drive process and reporting/analysis improvements
• Support ad-hoc projects as required

What you'll need to succeed
The successful Financial Controller will be a formally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or Qualified by experience accountant and have at least 5-10 years experience in a Finance Manager or Controller level role.You will need to be driven, credible, emotionally intelligent and able to adapt to lead change.
