Willamette Management Associates is looking for business valuation analysts with five-plus years of experience managing valuation engagements and developing client relationships. We are currently recruiting for vice president and manager level positions in our Chicago office.

We seek experienced analysts in the disciplines of business valuation (including closely held company valuation, illiquid stock and bond valuation, and intangible asset and intellectual property valuation), economic damages and related forensic analysis, and intercompany transfer pricing analysis. We perform these financial advisory services primarily for transaction, taxation, and litigation purposes.

Our vice presidents and managers train and supervise staff analysts, develop engagement schedules and budgets, prepare and review quantitative valuation and other analyses, prepare written expert reports, deliver oral presentations, and develop new client engagements. We strongly encourage our vice presidents and managers to demonstrate thought leadership through professional publication and professional organization activities.

Successful candidates will be self-starters who are comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment. We offer a very competitive compensation package that is directly tied to personal utilization and business development.

Desired Experience, skills, and Credentials

  • 5+ years experience preparing valuation analyses and writing valuation reports
  • 3+ years experience managing engagement workflow, directing staff, and interacting with clients
  • Demonstrated thought leadership in generally accepted business valuation approaches and methods
  • Experience involving complex valuation, damages, or transfer price analyses, preferably in a litigation context
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, as well as strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working on analyses for litigation purposes preferred
  • One or more of the following credentials: accredited in business valuation (ABV), certified business appraiser (CBA), certified valuation analyst (CVA), or accredited senior appraiser (ASA)
  • Certified public accountant (CPA) and/or chartered financial analyst (CFA) preferred
  • Masters degree in finance, accounting, or economics or MBA preferred
