Senior Financial Accountant

This established property company based in Chelmsford, Essex is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to act as key player in the finance team, leading the month end close, and managing one junior staff member.

The client is seeking an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant, with a Practice background followed by some experience in Industry.

This is a great role for an ambitious individual who is seeking to step up to an FC position within two years.

The Role

• Preparation of monthly financial accounts; including journal postings, accruals & prepayments
• Maintains accurate accounting records and provision of financial reports
• Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet and Intercompany reconciliations
• Completion of VAT returns on a quarterly basis
• Provision of data, analysis and insight as requested
• Assisting FC in preparation of financial statements, and liaise with external auditors as required
• Oversight of Capital Expenditure and maintain accurate asset records and reporting
• Monitors and reviews cash flow performance
• Performance of review & authorisation over company activities including expenditure and bank payments
• Support and mentor AP Clerk, providing direction and training as required

The ideal candidate

• Qualified ACA / ACCA with min 2 years PQE
• Practice trained - ESSENTIAL
• Technically strong
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent communication skills
