Morson are delighted to be working with a Glasgow based Engineering company who have a great opportunity for a Credit Control Team Leader to join their Finance department. Managing a small team, the role has overall responsibility for all areas of credit control including team management, aged debt recovery processes and procedures, driving process improvements and providing credit control and debt recovery related advice, guidance and support to managers.




Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that debts are paid in a timely manner
  • Chase overdue invoices and maintain regular contact by all relevant communication methods to ensure prompt payment of client balances due
  • Send out client statements/letters
  • Handle disputed accounts and notify management of query accounts, assisting where possible to ensure these are resolved promptly
  • Problem solving for more complex accounts - understanding contract to resolve problem accounts
  • Ensure cash and credit allocations are accurately recorded daily to enable efficient follow up of any accounts and diarise all communications with customers
  • Prepare accurate forecasts of amounts receivable
  • Day to Day Management Credit Control Team
  • Ensure that team maximise cash collection each month
  • Troubleshoot any cash collection issues
  • Forecast cash targets
  • Process improvement


Experience:

Essential

  • Experience in managing large transactional team
  • Extensive sales ledger experience
  • Excel skills - ability to manipulate large volume of data
  • Setting and measuring KPIs
  • Attention to detail / accuracy
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills


Desirable

  • Experience in Facilities/Engineering background
  • Commercial exposure - Contractual understanding
