Lumenad is seeking a knowledgeable Payroll Specialist to prepare, compile and process the company's payroll, along with conducting all associate compliance requirements. Additionally, the Payroll Specialist will support and contribute to the Lumenad finance team in maintaining accurate and complete financial records.

You are detail-oriented, able to work autonomously, and collaborative, thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting demands, and are interested in helping develop efficient accounting processes for a growing tech company.

Responsibilities
  • Process all payroll details for new employees and enter employee information into the payroll system, other necessary systems, or organizations
  • Record employee information, such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations, to maintain and update payroll and compliance records
  • Process Lumenad's payroll for approximately 100 employees utilizing Lumenad's payroll software with accuracy and efficiency
  • Cooperate with third party accountant to process payroll for approximately 10 foreign branch employees and ensure all necessary US reporting is completed
  • Post and reconcile all necessary payroll transactions in the general ledger, including but not limited to, employee taxes and benefits
  • Research and resolve payroll and related issues
  • Perform compensation benchmarking and reporting
  • Maintain payroll database and file payroll records in a timely manner
  • Ability to produce necessary reports to support ongoing management requirements, audits, and ad hoc requests
  • Conduct appropriate reviews and reconciliations to ensure data integrity
  • Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors
  • Process EEO1 reporting
  • Manage parking passes and vendor relationship with parking commission
  • Collaborate across Finance, Operations, and HR to ensure all onboarding and offboarding tasks are completed for employees
  • Assist with other duties as deemed necessary for this position
Skills

/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • You have 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with multi-state payroll laws, familiarity with foreign payroll a plus
  • High degree of personal integrity and mature judgment and must be able to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information at all times
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively interact with colleagues
  • You are a very organized person who pays attention to details
  • You are able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously as well as take ownership of your work
  • You have the ability to give and receive direction and constructive criticism
  • Experience with QuickBooks
  • Eagerness to work in a startup team environment that will be rapidly changing
