Director, Assurance & Risk
The Legal and Assurance Branch are seeking a Directorto lead theAssurance & Risk team. The Director will work across a wide range of corporate policy and governance areas including risk management, financial governance, internal and external audit, fraud and insurance liaison. The Director will support the Assistant Secretary and First Assistant Secretary in relation to those areas.
The Director will provide leadership to a small team ensuring the provision of responsive advice and sound policy frameworks. The ability to independently drive outcomes, as well as providing guidance and support to other team members, is critical to the role.
The role also involves provision of support to a number of important committees of the department - including the Audit Committee and Risk Sub-committee.
The role requires attention to detail, timeliness and coordination across many parts of the department and with important external contacts such as the Australian National Audit Office and Audit Committee members.
The role also requires strong written communication with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The candidate should have a willingness to work independently but to also to lead and develop a supportive team environment and have a sound understanding of Finance's departmental governance.
