Job Description

Objectives:

(a)Coordinate, manage and organize APAC related inter-company tasks for the APAC ICO team.

(b)Build functional expertise needed for a Center of Excellence/best-in-class organization based on best practices in the industry.

(c)Ensure the appropriate level of services (business partnering) with stakeholders.

(d)Achive high team performance scores in KPI measures, supported by continuous improvements in processes and methodologies.

(e)Manage and coordinate daily tasks of APAC ICO team members i.e. allocate resources appropriately and efficiently. Maintain/improve team engagement levels and ensure effective execution of people management tasks.

Duties

Inter-company accounting
  • Build/maintain standardized processes and controls within the Global ICO Team.
  • High quality, consistent task execution (for accounting and system transaction purposes).

  • Centralized processing of APAC region inter-company activities
  • Timely and accurate reporting of inter-company related transactions and balances.
  • Ensure inter-company elimination at Worldwide/Consolidation level.
  • Standardized and consistent reporting across three regions.
  • Automation of ICO processes and financial reporting.

  • SOX, US GAAP, Tax and Statutory compliant ICO processes
  • Effectively support internal or external audits (US GAAP, SOX, Statutory).
  • Ensure effective internal controls over processes owned by the Team.

  • In collaboration with Global ICO Manager
  • Produce models for long term growth and positive business impacts.
  • Review operations for productivity and/or cost-saving initiatives.
  • Communicateresults and recommendations to Senior Management for improvements that will lead to cost reduction, revenue generation andstreamlined operations.
  • Maintain a conducive environment for intense and effective collaboration between managers and team members.
  • Build and strengthen the accountability of the Global and APAC ICO Teams.
  • Continuous track and monitor the operations and results of the APAC ICO Team.

  • Projects
  • Support enterprise, global finance and manufacturing related projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Initiate ICO projects to support global finance vision and goals.

  • Setting and executing common strategies for the Global ICO Team
  • Tasks and processes.
  • Systems and automation.
  • Learning and development including succession planning.

  • Establish and maintain a high performing finance organization
  • Support the development of APAC ICO team members.
  • Conduct Annual Goal Setting, Talent and Performance Reviews.
  • Define staffing requirements and collaborate with Senior Management to fulfill those requirements.

  • In collaboration with EMEA/AMER ICO Manager and Global ICO Manager
  • Identify areas for improvement and initiate actions to ensure KPIs are met.

  • Scope of authority:

    Professional
  • Leader of the APAC ICO Team and may represent the Team in meetings with auditors, other functions / teams and various levels of management.
  • May propose, initiate, and execute ideas regarding work-related topics and issues.
  • May change the structure and design of the Team e.g., task allocation, resource allocation (including propose changes to headcount and budget)
  • Play supervisory role to APAC ICO team members.
  • Expected to contribute to functional alignment across three regions.

  • Managerial
  • Represents APAC ICO Team.
  • Responsible for Performance and Talent Management topics of the Team.
  • Should collaborate with other ICO Managers and site leaders on staff welfare and other work or performance-related matters.
  • May decide on professional tasks or projects owned by the Team or self.
  • Hiring/termination of staff needs to be proposed and approved by higher level of management.

  • Responsibility:

    The APAC ICO Manager is expected to perform her/his duties based on the job description above. She/he is also expected to follow any general or specific work instructions given by her/his supervisor, according to guidelines, policies, and regulations of the Company.

    Competencies:

    Individual competencies: Ability to build trust; good decision-making ability; customer-oriented; innovative thinker; able to work under pressure; and a good time-manager.

    Managerial competencies: Able to coach and developing self and others; aligning team performance towards common goals and objectives.

    Education & Professional Qualification:
  • Bachelor or master's degree in accounting or finance; and/or
  • Member of professional accountancy body such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA.

  • Other Requirements:
  • At least six years of relevant work experience (combination of professional and managerial experience);
  • Familiar with Oracle/SAP functionalities and financial modules; and
  • Language proficiency: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and competency in other Asian languages particularly Mandarin, would be an added advantage.
