This local government entity, located centrally to Sydney is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer for a three month contract. Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Manager, this role will commence ASAP and will be remunerated at $32 per hour plus Super.

About the role:

The role of Accounts Receivable Officer is to maintain and record all outstanding debts, whilst liaising with internal and external stakeholders to collect on outstanding debts. The day to day requirements of the role also include:
  • Ensuring invoices, credit notes and adjustments are raised in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Ensuring copies of all invoices and their associated invoice request forms are stored and filed correctly
  • Recover outstanding debts in accordance with Council's policies and procedures
  • Maintain an understanding of GST legislation and ensure GST is accounted for correctly
  • Learn and maintain an understanding of Local Government legislation
  • Carry out debtor account reconciliations.

  • About you:

    The Accounts Receivable Officer will be required to deal with all debtors in a courteous and professional manner, and escalate and issues or discrepancies accordingly. To be successful in the role, the Accounts Receivable Officer will possess
  • Demonstrated Accounts Receivable experience, and experience in debtor skip tracing
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Understanding of GST legislation and a high degree of initiative and problem solving skills
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Excel and Word
  • Tertiary studies highly regarded
  • Experienced using Finance One also highly regarded
