As one of the most exciting companies in Financial Services in the UK we have a career opportunity for a VAT Manager.

What you will do

The successful candidate will manage the VAT function within Group Tax and will work closely with the Finance team. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to the business on all elements of VAT. This position will report to the Head of Tax.

• Partnering with the business on their activities and advising on the VAT implications.

• Prepare and review quarterly VAT returns and ECN's.

• Supporting month end process.

• Working with the business on process and system improvement.

• Delivering and assisting with VAT projects i.e. MTD.

• Stay abreast of developments in market practice, legislation and regulation that impact the tax burden for products and clients. Advising on post-Brexit VAT implications, and other changes in VAT legislation and case law.

• Provide a point of contact for technical questions arising within the business concerning.

• Communicate, explain and escalate issues and ideas as relevant within the business.

• Handle ad hoc enquiries

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

• Professional Accountancy and/or Tax qualifications, e.g., ACA, ACCA, ATT, CTA

• Strong technical knowledge and experience of VAT legislation, MTD, case law

• Experience of preparing and filing VAT returns

• Ability to engage with various colleagues across the business

• Ability to engage with relevant regulatory bodies

• Strong control and governance background

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong IT / Excel skills
